Though we rarely post amazing iPod accessory bargains, we came across an astonishing price on Logitech’s Pure-Fi Elite that we wanted to pass along to iLounge readers. Pure-Fi Elite recently received iLounge’s rare flat A, Highly Recommended rating at a $300 price. Our editors consider it to be a remarkable deal for $130 shipped from Amazon.com.
Best of luck getting this deal, and enjoy listening if you do!

That’s a pretty amazing deal, especially since the Pure-Fi Elite is such a new item. But Amazon will occasionally unload Logitech products at drastically reduced prices. Three years ago, I bought the excellent Z-5500 surround sound system, which retails for $400, for $250 and free shipping. Earlier this year I picked up the Harmony 880 universal remote for less than half its retail price as well.
Last week, Tiger Direct offered the Audiostation, which is functionally the predecessor of the Elite, for $99.99 (one-third of the retail price) and you could get an addition $50 back through a mail-in rebate. I pounced on that one and wound up receiving it just a couple of days ago.
These aren’t cut-rate deals for cut-rate products, either. I own a ton of Logitech stuff and have been pleased with all of it, particularly their modestly-priced speakers.

Odd. I just checked Logitech.com and the Elite now retails for $179.99 directly from them…I wonder if this is a temporary cut or if it’s permanent?

It’s a permanant price reduction because of the crippled video-out functionality. Still - didn’t stop me from buying one!

I was the person who notified ILounge of the astonishing price on Amazon. Guess a return email was too much to ask…

Oh, what a dipshit am I. Sorry. Bad day at the office I guess. Just got the speakers and am charging the battery - can’t wait to try them out. I owe you one!
