Digital Lifestyle Outfitters is accepting pre-orders for iBoom at $149.99 with shipping expected in mid-October. iBoom is the first boombox solution designed specifically for iPod and iPod mini. iBoom is a 20 watts per channel, four-speaker boombox system with built-in digital FM radio. iBoom also features a digital FM radio, built-in handle for ease of portability, auxiliary input jack and can be powered via its included AC adapter or 6 D batteries (not included). While under AC power, iBoom extends the battery life of iPod as it powers and charges iPod. The product works with all iPods with the 30-pin dock connector, and it comes complete with a spacer to accommodate the iPod mini. A custom carrying bag with shoulder strap will follow.

I just got the Iboom today as well. I am overall very happy with it. As kedo stated..it is much smaller than I thought it would be..but also much nicer looking than the pictures. The quality and appearance are much better in person than on the wesite. Compared to the little altec lansing docking speakers..which I briefly owned..it sounds very good and much louder. Overall the sound is comparable to any other boombox of it’s size and wattage. The bass is good for it’s size..and the portablity of the unit is awesome. The power cord is located in the battery compartment when it arrives and can be stored there when transporting. I like that alot compared to my sony mp3 boombox that has the huge ac adapter. I did not expect to be blown away with the sound do to the size and cost..so I wasn’t dissapointed there.. I am very pleased with the sound though. I have a pair of Klipsch 2.1 speakers and sub that I use to listen to my ipod at home..and they are amazing imo..so the iboom doesn’t compare to them..but it sounds good and fairly powerful. I use a boombox outside alot when I’m working in the yard and I have no doubt this will be sufficient for hearing it clearly. I also look forward to being able to take it with me on camping trips and such. One more cool feature is that the handle is built right into the top… as a little half moon..adds to the small sleek look of the unit. Once again I have read alot of comments about it looking cheap and cheesy on the wesite.. but I think it compliments the ipod well. I think that just like anything else that is for the ipod..it’s a bit overpriced..but that’s innevitable. I would reccomend it to any who want a nice little boombox with decent sound and the portability and convienience of ipod.
