DLO previews iPhone Jam Jacket
Digital Lifestyle Outfitters, which will soon become a unit of Philips, has released photos of its first case for Apple’s iPhone. Like the new iPod Jam Jacket announced this week, the forthcoming iPhone Jam Jacket is a silicone case with a headphone management system that secures cables and earbuds to the back of the case. No other details were provided. “Along with the Jam Jacket, we’re working on several products for the iPhone which you can expect to see announced shortly,” a DLO representative said. It looks like they have a working preproduction iPhone. The picture of the back shows a brand-new grffin powerblock cable (it’s black)plugged into it. The screen is also bright and of good resolution.

Folks, take a closer look at the “screen”. None of the iPod accessory manufacturers has a working iPhone at this time. All you get as a licensed manufacturer are the exact dimensions and some application notes.
This is a cardboard mockup, not a real iPhone. I saw many of those last week at the Electronics & Components Sourcing Fair in Hong Kong. You wouldn’t believe how many iPhone cases already exist.
And you wouldn’t believe how many iPod copies, including faked 2nd gen iPod shuffles I saw. The US complaint at the WTO regarding copyright violations by China is more than justified, although I don’t know whether it covers intellectual property for products like an iPod. Because the only reaction you see in Chinese Television, are some police men who flatten a pile of DVDs with a steamroller, which looks like a show for the media to me.

Yah but look, you can even see the speaker grill on the bottom and everything. I seriosuly believe that this is a eral iphone and DLO somehow got their hands on one to make cases for.

joey is right. I don’t think it’s a mere cardboard mockup.
Apple might have sent out some dummy (the non-working display models in stores) iPhones for an exact fit.

Oh, it’s definitely a mockup of some sort. Not real. Could be an empty shell from apple. I seriously doubt it’s more than that. the screen image doesn’t look legit to me.
Folks, they don’t need a real, functioning iPhone just to build cases to speck. Now, you know apple… are they gunna supply a company with one of their iphones -just to make cases or peripherals- when it’s not absolutely necessary?
Please.

Does anyone not notice that these are TWO DIFFERENT CASES!!!! NOT JUST THE COLOR!!! LOOK!!!....
I don’t think that it would be that hard for DLO to make its own iPhone “dummy” from the specifications from Apple…
It might be a real iPhone, but I seriously dobut it…
I do believe that Apple might make an exception to giving licensed accessory manufacturers a real iPhone/s because the iPhone has already been announced and they have a lot riding on its success.
How would you like to get a brand new phone just to find that there were no accessories for it????
^just my 2 cents
