Digital Lifestyle Outfitters has announced the release of its HybridShell and VideoShell cases for the iPhone. Originally announced in January, the HybridShell for iPhone is made from a combination of a crystal-clear polycarbonate front and a textured, silicone back that features raised, black rubber “dots” for added grip. It also provides open access to all iPhone controls and ports, and comes bundled with a DLO Surface Shield screen protector. The VideoShell for iPhone is a clear polycarbonate case that offers full access to all ports and controls, features an integrated kickstand for hands-free video viewing, and comes with a DLO Surface Shield invisible screen protector. The DLO HybridShell and VideoShell for iPhone is available now for $25 and $20, respectively; the company is also offering its Surface Shield iPhone screen protectors in packs of five for $15.

Polka dots? And notice how they left out the dot for their logo and just bulldozed over the Apple logo! Maybe they think the iPhone case industry has such a shortage of cases that people will be forced to settle for this one.

People have been reporting that the kickstand integrated into the VideoShell has been scratching the back of their iPod Videos.

this case is different from the one for the iPod. There is no contact between the kickstand and the iPhone itself. No scratching. I got this case online last week. It’s great overall and the stand is the best design I’ve seen. I wish it came in other colors except “clear” because you can see every speck of dust trapped between the case and the iPhone.

Oops, I meant iPod Touch, not iPod Video. Anyway, glad to hear it’s working well for the iPhone!

At first I thought it was some hybrid case/keypad.

Get ready for scratches! DLO wouldn’t have it any other way. I had the video shell for my 30 gig. It was scratch free until i bought their ‘protective case.’ This company produces nothing but crap and they don’t stand behind their products when you contact them.
Keeping your ipod/iphone in a ziploc bag filled with nails would probably provide a similar amount of scratch protection. just my opinion.
