Digital Lifestyle Outfitters has unveiled the HomeDock Music Remote, a new addition to its line of HomeDock iPod accessories. The HomeDock Music Remote includes a slim remote with an OLED display that allows users to navigate the iPod’s menus from the remote. The remote also uses RF signals, which work through walls and ceilings, within a range of 150 feet. The system includes audio cables for connecting the dock to a stereo or home theater, and it is compatible with all Dock Connecting iPods. The DLO HomeDock Music Remote is available now for $130.

Where did this come from all of a sudden?? Available now? No 6 months wait until it trickles out in to the store? What is this world coming to?

Wow…I’m totally underwhelmed. This much excitement (excrement?) over yet another aftermarket iPod dock added into the mix.
Indeed…what IS the world coming to?

flatline, I don’t get where you’re coming from…This new dock looks great, and considering its 50 bucks cheaper than the next best similar one out there, it is exciting. It all depends on what you’d use it for, and this fits a small but useful niche quite nicely.
Count me in on one of those waiting for a review—although I’m tempted to go ahead and buy it, given its relatively reasonable price.

Hopefully, DLO will do a better job with the quality of the audio output of the dock which has been criticized in the past.

Saw one at Best Buy and got it—it works as advertised. I hooked it into our home stereo system (our house has in wal/ceiling speakers throughout), and the remote works anywhere in the house. I wish this would have come out earlier—I could have saved myself a few thousand dollars and gone with a less sophisticated sound system for the house.

I for one am glad that DLO is changing the game. A cool new product announced last week, and I’m able to purchase it this weekend! I bought one at Best Buy yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier. Finally a remote with display that’s not bigger than my iPod…this one is a bit smaller than my nano. The display IS colorful as stated in the first look, it’s also bright and easy to read. I haven’t played with it long enough to see how long the rechargeble battery will last, once I find out, i’ll post again.
