iPad, iPhone + iPod Photo Galleries
Great photos from our Around the World galleries are shown off here.

The iPad Buyers’ Guide + iPod/iPhone Book 5 is a completely free download. You have a choice between two versions: one is in book-style two-page spread format, which is best for screens 15” or larger on the diagonal. The other is a full-screen single-page format, available for viewing on screens that are smaller than 15” on the diagonal, as well as for pocket devices including the iPhone and iPod touch. iPad users: The two-page version is entirely readable on the iPad; the one-page version increases the amount of page-turning but is even easier to read on the iPad. Please download only one version so that others can get their copies quickly. PC users should have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or later. Mac, iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch users can use Safari, though we strongly recommend GoodReader or Readdle Docs for iPad/iPhone/iPod in order to download the Book once and view it whenever you want.

Please tell a friend about the new Guide! We welcome you to share it on your file-sharing network of choice, with friends through e-mail, or though a mirror link (post in comments below). Enjoy!

commission from the cos whose products you advertise in the bible?

We have been publishing iLounge since 2001 as a service to the Apple user community. We receive no commission for products/services featured in the Book and make all selections completely on merit—the exact same way it’s done for the rest of the iLounge web site.

@#1,

What IF they did?  It’s no crime, but as was stated, it’s a service to the readers of iLounge.
If you’ve spent any time here, you’d know they are pretty darn respectable on reviews, recommendations, etc.
Don’t look a gift-horse in the mouth, as they say…

why doesnt iLounge publish this in epub format?

Posted by reed on June 1, 2010 at 12:51 PM (PDT)

5

Because the text-heavy epub format is not suitable to a graphically intensive publication of this sort. It’s sort or like asking why movies aren’t published as MP3s - too much would be lost. PDF works until a better solution is available.

Not working for me via iPad safari, good reader or iTunes download. It loads up most of the text but only half of the images. In the case of iTunes it just doesn’t load at all - screen goes black.
No issues with any of my professional journals and they’re huge.

The links don’t work at all - unfortunately. Is this a countryissue? Just available in US? Or another problem?

I downloaded the Twin page version & it displays perfectly on my iPad using the free CloudReaders app.

GoodReader, on the other hand, seems to have some difficulty.

When you click on a link in the table of contents, it jumps there, but displays at 6400%, so it looks like nothing is on the page.

This is with Adobe Reader 9.
