As promised several weeks ago, iLounge is proud to announce the immediate availability of the iLounge Buyers’ Guide 2004 for free download from the links and locations below. It contains the world’s first review of Apple’s new iPod Photo.
For the unfamiliar, iLounge’s Buyers’ Guide is a complete, magazine-style guide to everything iPod and iLounge, with trustworthy previews and reviews of the very best iPod accessories, guides to getting free iPod software and support, and much, much more. We’ve designed the Guide so you can print only the pages you want, and give them to your family and friends as very specific holiday “gimme iPod” reminders.
By reader demand, the Guide contains a complete report card of the over 200 iPod-related products that have been reviewed by iLounge, and features the incredible art and photography of iLounge readers from around the world.
We have taken a completely new approach to distributing this magazine. Instead of asking our readers to cough up $6 to buy the Guide in a store, we are providing it for free online and taking mass advantage of file-sharing networks to spread it around the world.
This is only possible thanks to the support of our awesome readers and loyal advertisers:

Please use the link below to Tell A Friend or three about the Buyers’ Guide 2004, and help them have a holiday season full of iPod music. We hope you enjoy the Guide!

Thanks for all of your support, everyone. Please post links to the filesharing services where you’ve put the Guide so that others can know where to find it. We’ll update the announcement with the additional details you provide.

is there going to be a print version of this buyers guide? I definately wouldn’t mind shelling out 6 bucks for something of this quality ^^

note to those using the bittorent link:
I may have to disconnect for some reason or another, so it would benifit everybody if after your download is done, you could just leave your bittorrent client open as long as possible to keep as many seeds available.
thanks

Just incredible! Any chance this is going to be made available in a single-page layout so that those of us without huge displays can read the whole text? Thanks to the iPodLounge editors for their hard work!

Hmm. the link for the PodWave just throws an error for me. Says I’m missing a plugin for the URI action… I’ve never had a problem with links in PDF before…. any ideas? And does someone have a link for the podwave?

As a professional tech journalist, I must say I’m extremely impressed with this Buyers’ Guide. I feel it is of a higher quality than many of the traditional print publications you see in magazine racks.

Tried to print out the document and it needs a password to print in high-res. WTF??
and it’s layed out where the pages are side-by-side. When you print them out double sided to make it into a book, the page numbers don’t line up

Here is a mirror HTTP link for the ‘iPodlounge.com Buyer’s Guide 2004’ from my website. I can spare about five to six gigabytes of bandwith on the file so download away.
iPodlounge Buyer’s Guide 2004 (mirrored on Overmused.com) ... or the full URL below.
