SKB has introduced its DryPod line of waterproof cases for fourth and fifth-generation iPods and the iPod nano. The DryPod cases offer play-through controls and come with a neoprene arm band, adjustable lanyard and stainless steel belt clip. “Wear the DryPod on the waves, in the rain or down the mountain while your staying in control of every audio function,” says the company. “The seamless ‘flex-pad’ technology allows for the manipulation of the iPod’s control wheel right through the case. Independent laboratory tests declare the DryPod compliant with immersion and rain tests.” The 4G and 5G iPod cases will sell for $40, while the nano case will sell for $35.

good idea
but i think it would need rigorous testing to be used in the surf. Being tossed around on a frequent basis i would want more than a flimsy strap to protect my pod.
love to listen to some tunes while having a surf.

Great looking, slim water-proof case! Nice. Too bad I’m sure there’s no way to connect the iPod to charge or play in auto interfaces when the case is on.

My company is selling the SKB DryPod - we are the first to carry them - we are supposed to get the first shipment in today (20GB & 30GB iPods and 30GB & 60GB Video iPods, Nano DryPods should be in around end of May). I can tell you that they are simply amazing iPod cases with a price point that is beyond attractive when you figure that shoppers were paying almost $32 for a DLO neoprene iPod casing during the holidays (myself included!). The DryPod cases are $39.99 for the iPod and $34.99 for the Nano.

Forgot to identify myself - Jason with Melton Tackle
The earphones themselves are actually waterproof to an extent - the metal components are stainless steel. It should be noted that this case is not designed for deep sea exploration - i.e. searching for the lost city of Atlantis…

Both the DryPod case (box) as well as the website say nothing about headphones. It would be nice if you could ask some questions here or there so you don’t go and ruin a $300 ipod. Thanx drypod :-(
