DVBase Ltd. metal stand for $50

DeskMac.com has released 100 pieces of their original 2002 limited edition production run of the DVBase Ltd. stand. The stand is machined from a 3-inch cube of solid T6 aircraft grade aluminum. The DVBase Ltd. comes with a polishing cloth, Green-Stuff metal polish (also polishes the back of iPod), fits all full-size iPods (1G, 2G, 3G , and 4G/HP) and costs $49.99.

Got one of the limited edition ones 1st time round. Looks cool but the ipod slips out very easily. The lip at the base is not deep enough. You can see the problem in the pictures on the website. I’ve stopped using it because I am afraid it may damage my iPod.

Looks great, but can you use the dock port while it’s in the stand? I guess it was designed with the 1/2G iPod in mind so that didn’t come up.
