PKOH NYC has announced the Earbud Clip, a new cord management product for iPods and other MP3 players. Produced in Lexan polycarbonate, the clip comes in a set of four colors—white, black, green and pink— for $9.95.
“The product approaches the problem of tangled earbuds in a unique way; rather than using a separate reel, it simply secures the cord after the earbuds have been wrapped around the iPod,” explains the company. “This provides for a fast, convenient, and highly compact way to store your earbuds and prevent them from tangling. When not in use, the clip remains conveniently attached to the cord.”

I’ve been doing something similar to this with a small claw clip for hair. Works great, too. This is even better, though, because it’s flat.

Cool! I just picked up a set ... there are 4 in a pack, one of each color. Shipping is only 99 cents, which is great. This is perfect for my 7-year-old’s Pink Mini and her EX51s, which I am CONSTANTLY having to un-knot for her. Pam

Bobby,
Try using a plastic paperclip to do the same thing - odds are it will break on you in a few days. It will also mash your cord. The earbud clip is made of polycarbonate, a much more durable and attractive material. The clip is also contoured to prevent overclamping and help guide the cord into the clip.

For all those that have the black slide in protector for the iPod. The belt clip in the back can and is serving the same purpose.

I’ve been using one for about a week now, and it works great! I just wrap it, and throw it in my handbag w/out worrying about getting tangled up in all my stuff.

I can’t believe it’s $10 for 4 pieces of plastic. I paid $3.95 for a bag of 30 large plastice paperclips….multiple colors….and guess what? I’m still on my first clip in 3 months.

These cost of all $0.20 to make from over 50 factories in Baoan. The retail price should be no more than 10 times the cost which leave plenty of room for dealer and distributors. You would sell a lot more if you follow the formula
