Etymotic ER-4 earphones for $209 and ER-6 for $99

Intouchaccess.com is selling the Etymotic ER-4 earphones for $209 and the the ER-6 earphones for only $99. I already purchased the ER-6’s and they arrived within 5 days through the USPS. If you buy the ER-4s or anything else totalling over $100, then there is no shipping charge. This is the lowest price I’ve been able to find.

Palm.com sells the Etymotic ER-6’s for $99.99 regularly (as do several other places, check Froogle). When I finally break down and buy some, it’ll probably be from there. However, the ER-4 price is very good.

how do the ER-6’s compare to the Shure E2’s or E3’s? I was planning on getting a pair of E3’s, but I’d just like to hear how the ER-6’s are first.

That’s a crazy price on the ER-4P. You could resell them on eBay for more than that!

Yup, I paid $224 + $5 shipping for mine from Todd the Vinyl Junkie a month or two ago. $209 incl. shipping is a great deal on an outstanding set of earphones.

I briefly tried the Shure E2s and wasn’t that happy with the sound - I might not have tried them long enough (broken them in), or perhaps I didn’t get them to fit right.
I liked the sound of the ER6s as soon as I put them in.
I don’t think you’d be wrong to try Shure - each person hears things a little differently, so what I like won’t necessarily correspond with what you like. Some people really like Sony’s 71s (I have a pair: they are decent, but they don’t touch the Ety’s).
Regardless of which ones you get, make sure you get a good fit - try each of the different attachments that come packaged with it - I’m currently using the foam attachments and they are more comfortable and seal my ear canal better.
I’ve ordered the ER4Ps - I’ll let you know what I think of the difference between them and the ER6s (should get them early next week).
