“conical shape that channels sound into the ear canal increasing stereo separation”

Huh?  All headphones directly transmit one stereo channel into each ear, for perfect stereo separation.  Too perfect, in fact, which bothers some people and results in some headphone amps having a cross-feed feature to reduce the perfect separation.
