Facebook giving away 10 million iTunes music samplers
Popular social networking site Facebook today announced a back-to-school promotion to give away 10 million music samplers from the iTunes Music Store. The site said that starting today it will give away 1 million, 25-song music samplers from iTunes each week for the next 10 weeks. Each iTunes sampler will feature “select songs from a different genre ranging from Alternative to Rock, Hip-Hop to Dance and Electronica.” Facebook, which launched in February 2004, has registered over 8.3 million people and ranks as the seventh-most trafficked site in the US, according to comScore.

There’s a link on the “Apple Students” facebook group that will send you a facebook PM with the code for redemption.

I don’t see the link on the Apple Students group...any advice?

It looks as though you have to join the group before the link becomes available.

1. Join the “Apple Students” group.....
2. Then, click the link on the opening photo. By clicking that link, you will receive a PM.
3. Now check your messages. There will be a message with an iTunes code.
4. Open iTunes, click the “Redeem” link and enter your code.

This is pretty cool.
Apparantly, there will be different 25 song playlists available each Monday for six weeks.

People are reporting that it takes a dollar out of your account if you have a giftcard when you try and redeem it.

Like a responsible college student with an iBook, I was already registered with the Apple Students Facebook group. I was able to go to the group’s page, click the ad for it, and I was immediately sent the message with the redeemable code. I’m downloading it now. Not bad!
And if it makes any difference, I still had 10ยข left in my iTMS account, and it’s still there.

It DOES work with Firefox… I just disabled the Popup Blocker and it worked. It isn’t a pop-up link, but it worked so whatever.

For those that are curious as to what is on the first playlist, here is the link to it on iTMS. Note, you still have to go onto Facebook, get a code, and enter it to get the playlist for free.

thanks just downloaded it (on firefox). 10 25-song downloads? that’s a lot of free songs; I’m bound to find something new I’ll like.

I just downloaded those songs. However, I don’t have a credit card on file or gift card. Will I receive a bill in the mail for the tax?

Oh Sorry. It only works in the USA store. Maybe they should make another for the UK store.
