Facebook giving away 10 million iTunes music samplers
Popular social networking site Facebook today announced a back-to-school promotion to give away 10 million music samplers from the iTunes Music Store. The site said that starting today it will give away 1 million, 25-song music samplers from iTunes each week for the next 10 weeks. Each iTunes sampler will feature “select songs from a different genre ranging from Alternative to Rock, Hip-Hop to Dance and Electronica.” Facebook, which launched in February 2004, has registered over 8.3 million people and ranks as the seventh-most trafficked site in the US, according to comScore.

I am confused as to what is meant by “There’s a link on the “Apple Students” facebook group.” Where is the link? Is it somewhere in iTunes? Is it on Facebook.com ? What’s the specific URL?

Just so I understand this correctly; You have to be either a student of a school or an employee of a company that is listed with facebooks to register, right?
And I cannot register with my own personal email address?
Guess no music samples for me :(

For all of you who don’t understand:
Facebook is a social networking system for schools, workplaces, and geographic areas. On Facebook exist groups that users can join. The link for this promotion is available on the group page after joining a group, therefore if you’re not a member of Facebook, you can’t get the link.

the first one is a pretty decent mix. haven’t finished it yet, but considering “alternative” is pretty much my genre, i was surprised by the lack of artists i knew previously.
and yes, apple billed me via email. but the total was $0.

If you’re having trouble with FireFox, it could be adblock extension blocking the images. Look at the lower right corner of the screen, if you see “Adblock” then you have it installed. Go to the Apple Students group page and click Adblock on the lower left and make sure it isn’t blocking anything from ads.facebook.com. If it is, click the blocked element and see which filter is blocking it. Then go to the Tools menu > Adblock > Preferences and select the filter and hit the Delete key.

For those complaining that they aren’t students, or that their school isn’t on the list….You don’t have to actually qualify for Facebook to use it..just make up an appropriate age and pick a school on the list..bam..free tunes..I graduated 15 years ago from a school not on the site…had no problem being class of ‘08 at some little town in Illinois…heh
