A lucky reader sent BGR unboxing photos of the iPhone 5. Like the iPhone 4 and 4S before it, the iPhone 5’s packaging features an angled picture of the new iPhone, showing its slender profile.

Opening the box reveals the iPhone 5, a pair of EarPods with Remote and Mic plus their travel case, a power adapter, and the Lightning to USB Cable. An included photo compares the iPhone 5 to the previous model.

I’m shocked the greedy jerks at Apple included the new earbuds instead of making another $50 off of them. Wow and a cable and AC adapter too, how generous! The profit scam called Apple is growing old.

@1: Try harder at sarcasm next time, you’re failing. It’s unclear if you’re defending Apple from the facts for some misguided reason, or poking fun at what junk the packins are and how greedy Apple was to remove the adapter from iPods all those years ago only to add it back for the “premium” iPhone and iPad. I suspect you’re doing the former, just badly.
Apple is making over $450 profit on the *cheapest* iPhone 5 and those packins cost them around $3 combined, yeah, oh so generous.
As for the EarPods themselves, Gizmodo’s review summed it up succinctly, an improvement over the old ones but still terrible. No one but a fool is actually paying $29 directly for them (btw not $50), that’s why they’re pack-ins. They cost Apple about $0.75 but “save” people with enough money to afford a $650+ phone $20 for superior alternatives. Apple is spending more to ship from China than they are for the “luxurious” packins.

to the complainers and whiners about the new earbuds…I have a pair of Monster Turbine Coppers that I adore…and I think the new earbuds included with the iPhone 5 are quite impressive in comparison. And, really?, “scam called Apple” growing old? ...I’m happy with my phone…and other products I’ve been getting from Apple since 1993 and glad to see them doing so well…
