Foursquare update brings major redesign

Foursquare has released an update to its popular location-based social networking application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Sporting a completely redesigned user interface, the update also provides a more efficient checkin process, category support in the “Places” view and a pull-down-to-refresh option. Users can also now view a history of where they’ve been, and locations now display category icons and more detailed address information. Foursquare is available from the App Store as a free download.

Gee, Loren Brichter (of Atebits/Tweetie fame) should’ve gotten a software patent for that. Then he wouldn’t have to create great software any more—he could just make his living by suing other iPhone developers.
