Free iPod Engraving from Apple Store UK
Apple’s iPod might be one of the most self-indulgent things you ever buy - especially because in the UK at least it’s so hard to find anyone selling the iPod cheaper than Apple. However, until the end of the year the UK Apple Store is offering their iPod Engraving service for free. This is great if you’re buying the iPod as a gift for someone else or to mark it against theft. Normally engraving costs about £30 so this is a bit like getting a discount, in a perverse “no not really” kind of way!
Editor’s note: The US Apple Store is also offering free iPod engraving. Offer expires December 27, 2003. The UK offer expires January 6, 2004.

How is an engraving on the back of an iPod gonna “mark it against theft.”
Nothin’ a little sandpaper can’t erase.

I didnt want mine engraved because if i want to upgrade at a later date, it will be hard to sell if it has a custom message on the back.
