Chestnut Hill Sound has introduced George, a new high-end tabletop iPod sound system. George features a built-in iPod dock, an AM/FM radio with bandless tuning, and an alarm clock system. The system has a removable front panel LCD screen that serves as a wireless remote with full iPod functionality, including the ability to browse music on your iPod by artists, albums, songs and playlists. George will be available next week for $549. A charging stands and a consumer-installable, no subscription HD radio tuner will also be sold separately.

This looks fantastic! The fact that it’s software can be updated to improve it in the future is very tasty. I hope you get a a review model soon, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

This thing looks NASTY! The remote alone is worth the price of admission. I’m a Tivoli guy, but if I was in the market, I’d give this thing a serious look.

Saw and heard it yesterday at MacWorld: I’m a total convert. It was the most intersting iPod speaker system there.
