Griffin Technology and Adidas have teamed up to create the new miCoach Sport Armband for the iPhone. Made from ultra-lightweight nylon, the miCoach features a sweat-proof, touch-through screen cover, a low-profile pocket for keys, and a headphone port. While the companies claim the armband was “purpose-built” for use with adidas’ miCoach personal trainer app, it is obviously also useful for users of other athletic tracking and training applications. Griffin’s adidas miCoach Sport Armband for iPhone is available now and sells for $30; a universal version is also available for the same price.

As a longtime iPod user I’d like to ask a few questions. I have four generations of nanos, which I use mostly for audio books. I do listen to music’ on my pod, but only about 10% of the time. I understand the need for long cables for earbuds…but why hasn’t some company produced at least one version of a short cable earbud, especially with the Nano 6g. There is a clip on the pod to clip it up near the top of shirts, or whatever you’re wearing, close to your ears, then you have 4 feet or so of extra dangling cord which just get in the way. I know quite a few people that ask the same question (18-24 inches) but when we google short cord earbuds we don’t get many hits. I tie mine up i’n rubber bands, but then there’s a drag on them. Help!

Elizabeth:
Some of the Sony earbuds come with 1/2 meter cord length earbuds for just this purpose. They also come with a 1 meter long extension for when you’re not carrying your player on your arm or shirt-pocket.
