Griffin Technology today announced the iTrip Black FM Transmitter for the new iPod U2 Special Edition. Like the original white iTrip, the new iTrip-Black retains its most popular features like unlimited station frequencies and battery-free iPod mating design. The new model with its jet-black exterior and red LED light match the new iPod U2 Special Edition. Shipping in November, the new iTrip-Black costs $35 and is available for pre-order exclusively from Griffin Technology.

I like the black and red colors and I like U2… but not enough to give up the white iPod which I like even better. Certainly not enough to pay $50, since I won’t be using the $50 music discount it comes with.
Still, I think the matching black iTrip is pretty cool! Red would have been neat as well.
A black RemoteRemote would be neat also—you can already get the keyfob in black.

Wait… if they do this for a U2 ‘special edition’ iPod that (if it really is ‘special edition’) will last a year max… why don’t the offer it for iPod Minis which are an ‘actual’ product line? Where’s the love (and buisness since - surely there won’t be as big of a market for this black iTrip as there would be for a Silver/Pink/Blue/Gold/Green (shiny/metalic) iTrip mini…hmm)?

I agree with Jody on that.

U2 sucks. Id get this if it was the special edition black and red doo-dad, but I don’t want the U2 association ^_^ GO SOX

U2 doesn’t suck. If they did you wouldn’t know who they were. Too bad you can’t see that. Your loss.
