Griffin Technology has announced its new TuneCenter iPod dock and charging station. TuneCenter features the ability to navigate and control the iPod from a TV screen using the included 14 button remote, as well as play internet radio stations through the built-in Wi-Fi or ethernet connections. TuneCenter provides both composite and S-Video out, as well as RCA audio. The TuneCenter is compatible with all dock connector iPods, and sells for $99.99. It is scheduled to begin shipping in March; pre-orders are being accepted now.

I purchased the DLO Homedock deluxe and was very dissapointed. The remote was unresponsive and covered in scratches, furthermore (and I consider this the most important) the sound quality was extremely poor. I sent it back.
I have now bought the Griffin Tunecenter in the hope that I get decent navigation and decent sound quality. I will let you know my verdict compared to the DLO offering.
I am perplexed as to why no manufacturers have yet managed to really nail this item. I dream of having a virtual dukebox which can display artwork and make navigation easy whilst tapping into a huge library of music. Surely this cannot be too difficult.
Hitachi had a crack at this with their HD stereo but from what I understand navigation between tracks is not easy. Surely somoeone can produce a decent large scale virtual dukebox with decent audio quality.
