Griffin releases iTrip Software 2.0

Griffin Technology today announced iTrip Software Version 2.0 is available for download. The free software for Mac and Windows installs all available US frequencies on an iPod or iPod mini. Users can then change the broadcast frequency of their iTrip or iTrip mini directly from their iPod. This new software greatly improves the installation experience and adds 87.7 as an available frequency to US iTrip owners.

it is not an update, just a newer installer. if you already had those mp3 files installed on your computer, there is no need to download this one.

i wont buy anything from griffin. the one product i bought was a piece of crap (iTalk) and after emailing a complaint to them, they offered no explaination (no response at all).

What exactly is the 2.0 update? Its not explained anywhere? Is it just the improved installer?

Previously, the installer only installed about half the available frequencies. (Freqs ending in an odd-number, i think.) One could go to Griffin to DL the remainder of the freqs if they were needed. This installer just installs ALL of them in one go.

This doesn’t offer any “improved functionality” or anything like that. Griffin’s site states that if your iTrip is installed and working properly (you don’t need a new freq), the new software isn’t needed.

And count me in with the satisfied iTrip owners. Seems that oipinions run hot or cold with the iTrip.
