Why is it expensive than the itrip for normal iPods?
I would just buy the the original itrip for 35 bucks and not waste 5 bucks for just looks

I’m going to take a wild stab here and suggest that while the white iPod is great too, the mini’s advantages are not based on looks.

1. It’s cheaper. If you don’t need more space, don’t waste $50.

2. It’s smaller and lighter.

3. It has better controls (personal preference)

4. The aluminum is very difficult to scratch, unlike plastic.

And yes, some people even care about how the things they own look. They even sometimes care what color

Thanks, Griffin… makes me want an ipod mini!

I bought a silver mini for my girlfriend when they first came out. We took a trip to Vegas with the regular iTrip. It jetted out enough to be awkward. This looks great. Griffin and Apple make a good pair.Ended up buying a 20 gig and use the former iTrip for that now

I bought the iTrip and didn’t like it. Reception was unstable, especially at night in the car. So I bought a new deck for the car with an aux in. I wish I had done that in the first place instead of wasting the money. Sure I spent alot of money upgrading, but whats the point of listening to music on the iPod if it it sounds terrible?

If you buy a Honda Element EX you don’t need such a device - comes with auxilliary in.  A lot of new cars have been doing this I’ve noticed, including the new Minis (it’s an extra option).  My dad has an Element (mid-life crisis…) and his iPod has never sounded better than when it’s plugged into that car.  You can’t beat Auxilliary in, it’s worth spending extra for the capability.

You can order the iTrip mini at eCost.com for $27.45. Shipping is free, but there’s a $3.95 processing fee. My total came to $31.40.

If you’re going to buy this, buy it cheap!

Thank you both duc and jet3004. Just ordered my itrip mini, i can’t believe how low the cost was. Too bad my mini is going back for repair tomorrow (bad menu button). i can’t wait for it all to cooomee toogeetther

I wrote to Griffin a week or two ago, asked about the possibility of them allowing me to send my iTrip back for exchange for the mini model.  Response said at the time they didn’t have that option, but to try again after they started shipping and perhaps they’d consider it.  I will write, but perhaps if others did, too, they might consider it a bit harder.

the itrip is strictly for when your in someone “elses” car. like a rental or a friends car. its pointless using it in your own car. where you can run an aux out from your stereo. the sound is so much cleaner.

And what exactly are they supposed to do with your used iTrip?

Maybe you should take your dirty underwear back to the store, and ask if they’ll exchange them for a clean pair.  They might be more sympathetic than the Griffin folks?

As much as I wanted to love the Griffin iTrip I am going to have to concur with Jaguares comment, the device is best when you don’t have an option to plug in your iPod with the good old fashioned cassette adapter or some other auxillary input.

My iTrip has sat in a drawer for 3 months now since I had my mp3 deck removed to put the stock car stereo back in so I could use the cassette method.  But, a great device to take with you in someone else’s car!

Blitzsafe makes a line of auxilary input devices for many makes and models of cars.

I got one for my 2002 Mini Cooper.
The AUX input device hooks up to the cables for the CD Changer in your trunk and hooks into any devices with a headphone jack (i.e. my iPod Mini).

I received my iTrip mini yestereday and love it.  Worked in the car, home stereo and alarm clock.
