HP to sell iPod mini and iPod shuffle?
Following last month’s news that Hewlett-Packard has added the iPod photo to its lineup, Engadget reports that the company will soon start selling branded versions of the iPod mini and iPod shuffle. The gadget site says to expect both models on June 12.
While Froogle searches show HP product numbers of PW753AA (iPod mini), PX765AA (iPod shuffle 512MB) and PX766AA (iPod shuffle 1GB), the company would not confirm that it will offer the iPod models when contacted. “HP has not made any such announcements, and we do not comment on plans for future (or potential) products,” an HP representative told iLounge.

HP has been selling the old ones just fine.
It may be just 3% of overall iPod sales, but that’s 3% of a BIG number. Even bigger once the big-selling low-end iPods are added to the plan.
Good to know this is proving worth it to HP. It’s certainly worth it to Apple, reaching buyers who might shy away from Apple as “too different,” but find big-name PC companies comforting.

yeah, I thought it was going to suck having hp “ruin” the iPod when I saw a fugly jagged purple design on an iPod in an HP ad. However, when I finally did see the “HP iPod” it was @ COSTCO and it was a very, very, very large stack of standard iPods at about $30 off of the Apple website price if I recall correctly and although it said “HP” on the box next to the Apple logo I could not find any HP “branding” on the demo iPod they had out whatsoever.
