Hub Innovations intros Couture cases for iPhone 4/4S

Hub Innovations has introduced its new Couture cases for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Available in three different designs—Pretty Girl, Punx Not Dead, and Classic—each Couture case features an elaborate, raised design on the back, incorporating materials such as Swarovski crystals and black jewels, while offering open access to all ports, controls, and cameras, as well as a two-piece snap-on design. Hub Innovations’ Couture cases for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S are available now and sell for $80 each.

You know, its rare that I see a product and don’t have a moment of, “Hmm…that wouldn’t be too bad” for a moment. This is one of those rare occasions. Those cases are horrific. Reminds me of something Paris Hilton would have for her iPhone, except she’d probably go with something more understated…

If this is not a classic example of Kitsch, then I don’t know what is! Just as it says in Wikipedia on the article for “Kitsch”: “The term is generally reserved for unsubstantial and gaudy works that are calculated to have popular appeal and are considered pretentious and shallow rather than genuine artistic efforts.”
Yup, describes these cases to a ‘T’.
