Hurricane Katrina relief

imageAs relief efforts begin in the areas hit by Hurricane Katrina, we urge you to please make a donation to the American Red Cross. By providing financial support, you’ll be helping the hundreds of thousands of victims of the tragic disaster. In addition to the Red Cross website, you can donate through Amazon.com and the iTunes Music Store. Our hearts go out to all of those affected.

Maybe my previous comment was stupid but, the United States spends thousands of billions $$ for the army. And they need donations ??? What I’m trying to say is, of course, donations are required. But the only reason they need donations is because the governement doesn’t ####### care what happens to these poor / black people. I’ve read some articles where they say that USA country properity has grew up alot recently. They also noticed that poor states are poorer *if thats even a word* than ever. The American Red Cross are saving lives, the army’s killing hundreds of pillars… Just get in these poor peoples head, they’re hungry, really hungry. They need gaz, food, water and they receive nothing, who wouldn’t steal everything and wait ‘till death? But the governement doesn’t care if these guys are killed, they’re black and pooor. That’s why I say nobody should donate *if the governement had any interest in the situation* but where the governement fails, we donate. Anyway, I’m out..

Keep in mind that maybe 10,000 people have died and more keep dying.  Does everything have to become political?  If you don’t feel like donating money, don’t donate.  If you do feel like donating, well… donate.  Either way, leave it at that.  All this hate-talk won’t accomplish anything.  Natural distasters don’t take sides, they attack without regard for nationality, race, gender, etc.  I pity anyone, anywhere who has to suffer from such a thing.  There is absolutely nothing in this world worse that losing a loved one.

You all keep talking about the US not caring about poor black people, I guess you don’t happen to be seeing there are poor white people right along side the black. I have family in Biloxi MS, ALL my family , aunts-uncles,cousins and cousins kids, etc…. they are in what is considered one of the “Poor States” and they are all white. Does nobody get info about the anything East of New Orleans. I’m not saying N O isn’t important, they are I do believe the ones in the most immediate need. However it is not and was not a matter of Black or White until the Black Caucus and J Jackson came on the scene. Where are the White Politicians and Leaders to speak up and defend the White People as well. Also remember that ALL people say a LOT of things they really do NOT mean at a time of Frustration. Have you not been seeing the Talkers coming back now that they are getting help and appoligising for what had been said and trying to express that they were just beside themselves at the time of Spouting Off?
As I sit here in front of the TV they are actually talking on CNN about Biloxi MS NOT getting what they need.
Biloxi may not have the waters anymore like N O , but if you’re watching News you must be seeing that their houses are leveled to the ground. So what’s worse, the fact that you are under water and have no house, or that you have no house now that the water is gone??? any way you look at it, if you don’t live here then you really don’t know what’s going on. You only get what TV allows you to see.
In my family I have 2 aunts-uncles with NO house, and 5 Cousins the same way. So where and what do they do?
Not to mention the Cemetary where my Grandparents are buried have all the Coffins that have come out of the Vaults and Floated up from underground.Just laying out in the Muck. What a price to pay for Dignity.
As for the US Govt. asking for Donations… Didn’t we do that for the Tsunami and 911 and ALL Devestation that occurs around the World. If the Countries that have Accepted Loans from the US were to now Pay Them Back, well we wouldn’t have to ask for Donations.
Quit trying to Divide The US People and set us back 300 years again. We are ALL Equal and Who They Are or their Color does NOT matter or make them any different from one another. If you have a problem with our Govt. send your E-Mails to the White House and Vent your frustrations to them.
If you want to help then do, if you don’t then how do you think you have the right to DISS the US.????

God Be With ALL The Gulf Coast States And ALL The People Who Have Lost EVERYTHING.

B Young - Agreed and well said.

iJerry - Nice try but you’re a big hyprocite.  You won’t give aid to the innocent victims of the hurricane but you feel Kanye West who said the reason they are not receiving immediate aid is because the majority of the N.O. residents are black ?!
