What’s interesting here is that Hutchinson Telecom owns the 3 network in Australia, but has made no announcement or indication that it would be taking the 3G iPhone. Maybe there are different agreements in different countries, to the extent a provider will reject it in one and keep it in another…

It had been rumored for months that Smartone-Vodafone would be carrying the iPhones in Hong Kong, and Vodafone has iPhone contracts in a dozen countries in Europe. I am dismayed to learn that Hutchison won the contract. Their customer service is quite bad.

I will be in Hong Kong from May 28 to June 6. Is there a possibility I can use my iPhone (AT&T; U.S.) on your system while there?
What other possibilities are there for cell service while visiting Hong Kong?
