#19: The answer is really nuanced, as discussed in the review. Depending on the way you use the phone, and network conditions, you may notice a subtle improvement or new issues. Under some conditions call detail on both sides seemed to be a little better on the 3G, though both sides always agreed the difference was extremely small. In other tests there were reports from our callers of breakup and volume fluctuations. It is not a clear-cut issue, but our strong suspicion is that any “big improvements” people might perceive are more from degradation of the original iPhone’s mic and speaker than anything else.
#20: The firmware version screen tint claim has apparently been debunked by Apple; see the news story on iLounge for additional details. There are many elements that go into screen performance, including backlighting, coating, the quality and characteristics of the panel used, the gamma and color settings, etc. It is unclear which are responsible in this case.
