I have a small addition to the headphone section. If you use the iphone headphones, the microphone might not work yet, but the ‘pause’ and next track’ feature of the microphone/button does work on the itouch 2G

In the list of cons, you said, “Software updates may add to device’s actual cost of ownership.” Didn’t you mean to say, “value”? Using “Cost of ownership”, in this context, doesn’t make sense to me, and refers an impact on expense… FWIW.

#2: Apple has charged for iPod touch software updates, which means that what starts as a $229 or $299 or $399 device may wind up costing more over its lifetime—something that was not the case with any other iPod.

Am I the only one who finds that lil magnifying glass thingie really stupid and useless, since it doesn’t really increase the size of the text.
What the hell does Apple have against copy and paste?

one major problem with my iPod is that the headphone plug in barely holds the plug and it just keeps on falling out, and that has happened since the first time I got it. Has this happened to anyone else?

#2 and #4: How much do the updates cost and how often do they occur? What are the updates for, iTunes? Finally, do you HAVE TO get the updates or are they just benificial? I want to know because I would like to get an iPod Touch. A lot.
