iPhone 4 now shipping ‘within 24 hours’ in U.S.

Apple has once again updated its U.S. Online Store to reflect improved shipment wait times for the iPhone 4. According to the store’s iPhone page, new iPhone 4 units—both the 16GB and 32GB models—now ship “within 24 hours,” down from the previous estimate of 1-3 days. Apple first reduced the estimated wait time on new online iPhone 4 orders in the U.S. from three weeks to 5-7 days in early October, dropping it again in the interim to 1-3 days. The drop in wait times for the iPhone 4 appears to be unique to the U.S., however, as estimates from international stores such as Canada, U.K., France, and Germany remain at 1-2 weeks, depending on the country.

It’s a shipment wait time far better than in Brazil, where 4 (four) operators (OI, TIM, VIVO and CLARO) announces iPhone 4 with no one single unit in their shelves from almost two months by now. Here, in Brazil, you go to your operator, let your name, cel number and e-mail in a wait list and pray to be called. I am waiting for just 45 days on my operator (OI), and, believe if you want, here an 32gb model costs around US$ 1.300,00 (for just the phone, not included the cel plan). Here, if you want an iPhone 4 you need to go to Mercado Livre (it’s like ebay), and pay around US$ 2.000,00 for an iPhone, usually sold personally by those operators employers… Yes, I know what you that are reading it is thinking… and I agree, it’s a big shame, nothing more, nothing less.
