Great deals from Dell, but be wary of shipping delays. I ordered a 15Gb on 8/22, and I’m still waiting for a confirmed shipping date. I’ve gotten 3 revised dates so far….

Uhg! Didn’t want to hear about a shipping delay! Just canceled refurb order @ Apple and bought a new one from Dell instead. It is 9/15 and they gave me a 9/18 ship date. Hope they stick to that.

Whenever I order something from dell.com, they give me an absurd target ship date of like 1-2 months from the date of when I purchased the item.. it always ends up shipping within your normal 5-7 business days, however.

I jumped on this Friday (9/12) before I knew about the $30 coupon code (oops).
Anyhow, the Dell site says mine shipped today (9/15), so I should have it by the end of the week!

In response to Steve, no, the 30g and the 40g have no difference whatsoever when it comes to features. The only difference is that th 40g is 10g larger, but other than that, everything should be the same, including sound quality, and AAC/MPEG4 support.

Ordered one too :D I’m very excited. But I read in the forums that 20/15GB models are “noticibly” thinner than 30/40GB model. Although 1oz, 0.1” difference doesn’t sounds like much to me.
Any comments? Thanks!

There is a great review of the 15G model in the July issue of Macaddict. There is a side by side thickness picture of the 3g30/3g15/1g10/2g20. The 3g15 is by far the slimmest. Next is the 3g30 which is noticebly thicker (but still sleek), then the two older models look larger and blockier than the newer models including the 3g30. So, though the 3g30 is thicker than the 3g15, its still smaller than older models.
It certainly is a trade-off and a tough decision I had to make too, but I ended up with the 30, if they ship it soon that is. If it starts to drag out I might be forced to buy from a brick and morter just to get it soon!

Check the Apple Store.
The Refurb 30 gig is now $350.
But there is one less available now

Come out to be about the same price after tax (not if you live in Oregon I guess
Still, I’d prefer the new model even if I paid little more…

Well, my order now says that it is in process, but also listed as being “delayed”. great. It still lists a ship date of 9/18, so I will wait and see.
If nothing else, I WILL have one this weekend, if I have to drive a couple of hours to an Apple Store to buy a 40g.
Who knows, if they can’t get the 30g anymore, maybe they will upgrade to 40g! i can dream can’t I?
