picMacMinute.com reports that “Apple’s iPod marketing team has transformed the St. George subway station in downtown Toronto into an ‘Apple dreamland,’ local resident Jonathan Ta-Min told MacMinute. He noted that iPod ads adorn nearly every object of the station—posts, walls, stairs, and even newspaper recycle bins. Ta-Min has provided MacMinute with several photos of the scene. ‘It definitely brought a smile to my face,’ he said.”

I go to the University of Toronto which has approximately 55,000 students on their downtown campus. The St. George subway station is the primary subway stop for the University. Apple definitley has the right idea by saturating this area with Ipod advertising. No advertising for the Ipod mini though, even though the relase is only 1 month away. Strange!!!

i was flipping through the latest issue of spin magazine and i couldn’t help but notice the new ad campaign for the ipod mini. i don’t know how the long the campaign has been live, but it reveals the ipod mini dimensions by popping all four colors out of the advertisements in cardboard cutouts. the cardboard minis are perforated so you can get a better feel for it’s true marvelous form by ripping them out. i personally haven’t seen a campaign like this before, but i feel it’s a smart move to reveal just how small the ipod minis truly are…. cool stuff.

Yeeah baby! Awesome marketing! I personally like the vinyl graphic which transformed an ordinary newspaper box into an advertising opportunity! I wonder if they have more product literature inside the newspaper box! That would be sweet!

Maybe I’m being overly P.C., but I think the title of the article should be changed in light of the events in Spain.

Sad part is that someone was able to tie the title of an article on iPod ads to a event with a death toll of over 100 people. No wonder everyone spends more time in this world being “offended” than actually living their lives.

sadworld - excellent point.

Yeah, for some strange reason, when I see “Attack” and “Subway” in the same headline, I think of a death toll, not an iPod.

I really don’t like the title either, it is very disrespectful.
