That’s a pretty good deal…but not quite as good as getting an education discount or government employee discount.

I put in an order for one last night ... had $75 worth of Amazon gift certificates to apply, bringing it down below $160 ... but the projected ship date is October 15. Sheesh.

The link is to the iPod Mini in Silver, click on the other option tab and chose another color, then add it to your cart and walla…...it’s listed at $231.44.
Guess the Silver is to valuable to drop the price, waiting until 10/04 is a bit much though.

Update: I just got an e-mail today saying that the mini shipped and should be arriving tomorrow! It seems they’ve got a bit of a disconnect between their shipping and account updates ... my wife’s quite pleased (since it can actually be the intended anniversary gift)!

I’m in the middle of a <sarcasm>Fantastic</sarcasm> experience with Amazon. I blogged about it, but the essential details are that I ordered a Pink for my GF on March 29. I called May 5-ish for an update. I logged in several days later to find out that my estimated ship date went from mid-May to mid-June.
Turns out that my rep made a change (upgraded my shipping) against my wishes and that set me back to the very end of the shipping queue.
My case was escalated to an executive customer relations rep, who among other things, said that there was nothing Amazon could do to restore my original estimated shipping date despite the fact that the company admitts the mistake.
Moral of a long post: don’t allow your Amazon iPod mini order to be changed.
