TechTV’s Fresh Gear has posted a roundup review and humorous western-styled ‘shootout’ video of iPod ‘the undisputed quick drive’ vs. the rest of the competition. You can take a guess who’s still standing after the dust clears.

Well they didn’t compare the iRiver player.. which I think would have at least parred the pod.

Given time, there is a good chance the Rio Karma will smack the iPod hard. It’s a great player but really needs to mature a bit before it could topple the king.
Not that the iPod is bad (I own one) but the feature set on the Rio is really good it just suffers from some stability issues, which are rumoured to be fixed within a few weeks.

Rio’s day has come and gone. They had plenty of time to develop a good mp3 player and didn’t. I got two words for you… BAD KARMA!

Eh if they’re just going to say what’s everyone’s already said they should have it right at least. The 9 hour battery should be a plus, and the price of the iPod is a con.
