iPodDownload returns with update

Engadget has posted iPodDownload 1.1, a new version of the iTunes plug-in that allows you to transfer songs from any iPod to your iTunes library. As noted earlier this week, iTunes 4.7 disables iPodDownload—but this update adds support for the latest version of Apple’s jukebox application. Engadget suggests user “come and get it quick” before Apple steps in and stops the distribution of the update.

Actually… It’s still there - you just have to look for it!  And by the way, it’s not an actual program or version 1.1.  It’s a hexedit hack into iTunes 4.7 which causes iTunes to no longer recognize iPodDownload as a forbidden plugin.  For those of you who gave up trying to find the article, it’s about halfway down the page and entitled ‘“iPod Download” fix’ - http://portableaudio.engadget.com/entry/7166385640773718/
Enjoy!

What’s that I see coming??  No.. not iTunes 4.8!!  How long do you think Apple will try to work the incompatibility game?

How long?  As long as the iTMS exists, unfortunately.  hmmm

However, as long as that happens, the game will continue, as developers continually tweak.

Actually, there is an actual version 1.1…

The one downloaded is version 1.1.  There are two different pakcages floating around.  One, the original version (1.0) with a .pdf showing you how to hex edit iTunes to make version 1.0 with iTunes 4.7.

The other, is what i have, and all i did was drop it in my iTunes plug-ins folder and it works with iTunes 4.7
