picMark Edmonson emailed us to inform our readers that his new online store iPodminibattery.com is offering replacement batteries for all iPod models, including iPod mini. The 1st and 2nd generation battery sells for $49 (US/Canada) and 3G iPod model also sells for $49 (US/Canada)

Is there a huge market for these batteries (especially the 3G model?) After all, I expect only power users are beginning to see failure on their 1G and 2G models and I’d be VERY surprised if people were already cracking out their 3g batteries for replacement.

The only problem with this is how and who do u get to put it in your iPod. If you take it apart, your warranty is no fucked.

Dave - Unfortunately it costs quite a lot to import these things to the UK.

$49 + shipping to UK + customs != $49
