if people have already started breaking their 4th Gen ipods, they have done a huge disservice to the Ipod community.. I know I baby my 4G Pod.

I used to whine and complain about every little hairline scratch or imperfection on my iPod’s face, but then I realized that it really doesn’t matter. Sure the “resell” value goes down a bit, but not by much considering the most you can get for a 3rd Gen 40gig is like $350 now that the 4gen 40s are only $399.
But $79 for a new battery with 3-way overnight shipping is pretty reasonable.

Is that 350 price tag for a new Ipod, factory sealed?? If so where did you see a price like that for a 40gig 3g

I have a 20 gig iPod. The hard drive has failed, (only 8 months old), I purchased the exteneded warranty from Best Buy and they are saying that there is a slight bump in the casing of the iPod that caused blocking of cooling air therefore causing the hard drive to fail, this type of damage is not covered under warranty!!! Any ideas on how to combat this, I spent good money on this extra extended warranty from Best Buy.
Can a very, very slight dent in the back of the iPod cause a airflow obstruction and lead to a hard drive failure?
If you think that their diagnosis is correct, how much would it cost to repair this type of problem from you company?
Your input is greatly appreciated.
