Product and interactive design firm Designs by People and artist Charlie Becker have created the iPop, a silicone iPod shuffle stand that has a suction-cup bottom to let you affix it to a variety of surfaces.
“Try the bathroom tiles during your bubble bath, the treadmill screen at the gym, and take advantage of your window seat on the plane,” says Core77. “The iPop is made of silicone rubber, retails for approximately twelve dollars and is a must have for the Apple i-obsessed masses.”
iLounge is awaiting availability information.

You know the shuffle is mainstream now that this has come out… Seriously, this is a ridiculous product…
This quote scares me: “must have for the Apple i-obsessed masses.”

haha I didn’t think this was a very “smart” product either…but hey! If you want it, get it.
I on the other hand will pass.

I was going to defend it until I realised it isn’t a sync/charge dock. I’ve got the shuffle dock, and to unplug I need to hold the base down - a sucion cup would negate that.
But just a suction cup stand? Entirely without a reason to exist…..

Huh… A suction cup for your ipod shuffle from the design firm Designs by People. My question is “Who are these people and why are they deliberately designing crap for Apple products?” I hope they go out of business.

Design-wise it is elegant, but I do not like the embossed logo (I dislike logos in general on products, unless done well). Usefulness: I cannot see much that I would use it for.

Oh btw, “iPop” - turn the “p” around and it turns into a “d”, making it “iPod”. - Lawsuit? haha

I don’t have a Shuffle, but I like the idea. It meets a unique need, to keep your iPod in one spot in places that could otherwise be awkward to do so. It’s not like other stands—it holds the STAND to the SURFACE. That’s the unique offering here—useful to some.

On the window of an airplane??!! Really convenient if you don’t have a pocket I suppose. Maybe on your bathroom mirror when you don’t have a pocket to spare.
