iSkin has announced the availability of its iSkin Duo for the iPod nano. First shown earlier this month, the case features a dual layer shock-resistant silicone skin that “guards against bumps, scratches, dirt, and other unwanted elements, ensuring your tunes keep playing no matter where you go.”
The form-fitting protective case comes with a clear screen protector, port covers for both the dock and earphone ports, a transparent click wheel protector, and a RevoClip 2 belt clip. iSkin’s iPod Duo is available in a variety of two-tone color combinations and is priced at $29.99.

Ok, so the quality of iSkin seems to be good from what Richard said and their previous reviews on iLounge. As for color oh well, that’s not an issue at this point i’d rather have a ‘clean’ nano in an Ugly case, rather than a scratched nano in a classy case, as long as the case is going to protect it all over…Looking again the blue/green, light blue/white don’t seem to be ‘that’ horrible, they’re ok if the case will stay away from my eyes in my pocket.

Does anybody know if the iSkin Duo for iPod nano is already selling in Canada? Or is it just in the US right now?

Hmmm…I think I can make the generalization that most males don’t like the color combos, whereas us females do. They’re not so bad! Except the black on carbon blast is so see-through it looks like brown. There are also 4 new colors out if you don’t like these. If you want the full review on these, type in iSkin Duo for iPod nano and you should find it after scrolling a bit.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the iSkin Duo for my iPod nano. But I have a few disappointments….I’ve waited several months after the nano’s debut to buy a case, this one will suffice….
While the dual layer silicone offers protection from scratches and fingerprints, it attracts dust, hair, lint, etc.
Their website indicates that the Duo’s silicone glows in the dark. It doesn’t. They do not indicate which models do…however, on their FAQ site, it states:
“How long do the GLO colors glow for?
Glowing times and intensity vary on exposure times and the actual color of the iSkin. Green and blue glow the brightest and longest followed by orange, yellow and red. The iSkin Ultra-GLOs may glow up to 10 hours.”
This leads me to believe that ALL the colors available for the Duo glows in the dark. I’ve contacted customer service but have not received a reply.
Belt clip only rotates 90 degrees. On the plus side, you can remove the clip and turn it manually or leave it off.
Hold button plug non-existent.
The plastic screen protecter needs to be built-in to the outer layer or something…and needs to be slightly larger. Right now it creates a distortion on the outer edges of the screen. You would have to angle the nano to see the screen edges.
