iSkin has provided iLounge with a first look at two upcoming cases for the iPod shuffle and fourth-generation iPod. The iPod shuffle skin will totally enclose the device in silicone, and will feature a covering for the controls in a complimentary color, and a hole for a lanyard or keyring. The new iSkin Duo case for 4G iPods is made of colored silicone and silver metal, and features an integrated metal plate in the rear that includes a new high performance belt clip. iSkin said the finished products may vary from the illustrations.

The new 4G skin is pretty frickin’ nice looking. I’m a sucker for red/white/grey pairings too.

The dock thing hardly matters anymore since nothing comes with docks now.

I don’t get it. To use the lanyard, you have to use the special lanyard with the USB cap. How are you supposed to switch it and use this iSkin?

narco: the hole’s most likely for third party lanyards, some of which feature metal screw clasps so you can detach the rope.

The shuffle one looks pretty cool. I like the grip things on the side. But how is the sliding switch on the back going to work with the silicone covering it.
The 4G case looks awesome though, love that red-white pairing. Pity they don’t make any cases for the 3G anymore, i’d certainly buy one…

the new 4G looks spiffy, but I like the current Evo2’s because the belt clip is detachable…

they would have sold like mad, if the shuffle skins came out sooner.

I think these new iSkins look nice. I purchased the PacRim cover for the shuffle and it lacks the hole for the lanyard, which is no big deal. IMHO, I think I like the iSkin cover better.

Does any one know when this new 4G case comes out… or if it comes in any more colors?

“they would have sold like mad, if the shuffle skins came out sooner.”
I think they’ll still sell pretty well, because they look more protective/functional than other skins, and they’re the first I’ve seen that are rather stylish (not just a bare wrap).
If they come out in better color combos than blue/green, I’ll get one.

Green was not a VERY good choice of colour for the controls, anyway I do not like any iSkin becuase by putting it on you don’t have an iPod you have an iSkin it really takes a lot away from the iPod experience.Just like we prefer to have a painting without glass between the canvas and our fingers I prefer to have the masterpiece in my hand and not in the custody of silicone skin.Protection?Yes it does protect it,so does glass a painting, but a painting should last forever with its protection, your ipod will die in a few years so enjoy the experience to the fullest while you can.No offence to iSkin lovers.

Oh and if the iSkin makes the iPod looks better, wrong. The iPod in its white glossy simplicity looks better.(My opinion)
