L.A.-based iStyle is offering custom laser etching for the iPod, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle, either by mail or by physical appointment at its Melrose Avenue location. The etching is permanent, but can be scratched out or designed over, and does not void the iPod warranty. The service is also available for laptops. Pricing for the etching service starts at $25 for the iPod shuffle or iPod nano; full-size iPods run $35.

Some look pretty cool. Looks like they don’t bother with trademark and copyright laws either…

They obviously don’t bother. Isn’t there already an iStyles.com selling stuff for the iPod?

That’s actually really nice looking. The website has a gallery too. Some of the images look okay, but others look kind of classy. I would never do it, though. It’s a waste of money if you’re like me and you keep your locked away inside a case.

Great. Now you can make your iPod look like it was bought at a cheezy tourista souvenir shop. Or a promotional hand-out.
Yeah, baby…real classy.
