Ambrosia Software has introduced its iToner application, a ringtone manager for the iPhone that allows users to add custom ringtones to the handset without the need for any hacks or modifications. The application features a drag-and-drop interface for the creation of ringtones from MP3 or AAC files. iToner requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later and is available as a free demo; a full license costs $15.

I have used iToner, and it works as advertised. I am waiting to see if Apple comes out with their own solution for ring tones today before I purchase it.

Dewarner, my thoughts exactly. This program works perfectly. Depending on Apple’s announcements today, I’ll be buying this program.

I like this, and seeing Apple’s announcement today, if I were in the market for something like this (i.e. If I had an iPhone), I would go with iToner just on principle. Apple is charging you an extra dollar (the price of the song over again) just to put a 30 second slice of the song on your iPod. This program lets you take music you already own and do with it as you please. Right on.
