iPod:Essentials announce UK availability for the Griffin iTrip Mini. The iTrip mini FM transmitter lets you play your iPod minis music wirelessly through any FM radio in your car, on the road, even at home through your stereo.

I think it’s something bizarre along the lines of they can legally be sold but certain uses are illegal. It’s a bit like the situation with bugging devices.

They are legal to buy/sell/own, just illegal to use as they broadcast on civilian FM frequencies.
