Forget agricultural harmonisation and economic strength through unity, that’s got to be about the best argument I’ve ever seen for greater European intregration!...actually I’ve just thought, would it be charged in Euros or Pounds if you are buying in the UK? Is iTMS available in Canada? If so how does it work there?

That “release date that differs by country” crap is a big reason why people resort to illegal downloading in the first place.  Come on, just release the damn thing at the same time in different countries for Christ’s sake!

the tape is red because it is reflecting the red wavelengths of light. this means it is absorbing the blue wavelengths, and since blue light has more energy than red, the tape is stronger. =)

i understand people’s reaction to all the red tape in the european market. but we must remember that the good old u.s.a has plenty of red tape itself the hurt eurpean products here.

Acutally it has nothing to do with the EU. Clearly it is the Record Labels themselves that are holding up progress. “A maze of licensing contracts, music release dates that differ by country and incompatible billing systems” Lets see, billing is nonsense as all of Europe takes visa (as does the rest of the World), so we are talking when the labels get paid. Music release dates is just nonsense. The real reason is “licensing contracts” i.e. money and how much goes to who. Nothing to do with the EU and the trading therein. A lot to do with lots of greedy, entrenched recording industry interests.

I thank Apple for iTunes not being available in Europe: it made me look for other ways to buy music online, and that’s how I found [url=http://www.eMusic.com]http://www.eMusic.com[/url]. I wanted to feed my new iPod legally, and I must say I’m addicted to eMusic.

Its weakness - mostly small and independant labels - is actually an advantage : it made me search through the community discussions, recommandation lists, etc, try (30 sec. preview), and find pearls that I would have missed, had I jumped on the iTunes bandwagon.
It’s a lot more pleasant to listen to a great album, from a little known artist you found out by digging, that to share your pleasure with all the MTV listeners.

  10$ => 40 songs, or
  20$ => 90 songs, or

The first month, combining the free 50 songs, and present, I downloaded 180 songs (50 + 40 + 90) for 20$.
