A previous iTunes feature that located duplicate songs will be restored to iTunes 11 in an update, according to AllThingsD, which also mentions that some album covers were missing in album view—a “rare bug” that Apple said it has solved and will fix in an update. Another bug preventing Apple TV users from streaming cloud-based movies to their TVs will be fixed. Cover Flow, however, is not coming back to iTunes, as Apple said “too few users considered it useful.”

Please tell me this means it’s going to be removed from our iPhones and touches.
If Coverflow wasn’t useful on the computer, where at least it remained contextual and functional, it’s sure as heck not useful on our devices where it insists on showing us 100% of everything on the device no matter what were looking at before we had the misfortune to turn our device too far to the side.

I agree about the practicality of Cover Flow, though it looked nice and was helpful to show me which albums needed artwork.
What I do miss is full screen “Now Playing” though. That is kind of a bummer, it served as a really nice way to show off the cover art.
I realize I can still see the cover art via the popout window, but it’s not full screen.

I wonder how many thousands of people Apple considers ‘too few’ to reinstate coverflow.
I loved it and now don’t like the look of iTunes at all, or find its functionality easy.
Can’t see what’s so difficult about keeping it as a option in views.
Seems like a ‘tyranny of the majority’ decision.
