Koyono has announced that its first iPod-ready outerwear garment goes on sale today. The BlackCoat Work Premiere Edition, a lightweight jacket with a black Nextec nylon shell, has several gadget pockets and integrated ElekTex iPod controls. It sells for $250 and will ship by the end of March. The company said its BlackCoat Work, a stretch cotton version of the same jacket, won’t be shipping to customers until May. It is priced at $180 and can be pre-ordered now.

not a very nice style, i’d get one if it was a london fog trench coat though. i love those coats. i personally have 2 myself, and if ipod ready technology was in it i’d wear it all day.

Come on, your iPod is not like a kid or something! i think now, thier getting “a little bit carried away”. I have ne question though, who all here remembers those out of date walk mans?

Never mind the flaky iPod tie-in…250 clams for a nylon shell…180 for a cotton version.
I’ll NEVER say anything bad about Helly Hansen’s or The North Face’s pricing EVER AGAIN (well, at least until I forget about these POS offerings).

saad (Your name or state of mind?),
I saw the cotton version of the “Work” jacket at MWSF and it was light enough to wear during the cooler days of summer - if you feel the need. Not everywhere has 30 days of sun every month during the summer….
As other iLounge Staff will testify to, I love my Koyono BlackCoat T shirts. If the coats are as high quality as the shirts are then maybe the price is worth paying? I guess you’ll be stating that I’m sad as well for thinking that?
You’ll probably be more than happy to fork out a weeks wages on the latest Nike shoes or other fashion-statement-must-have, which everyone is wearing, but when something which doesn’t involve dressing your iPod up comes along it is derided….

You know, I really wouldn’t mind a summer T-shirt or something cool to wear out on the trail this summer that worked with my shuffle, it’s just these stupid prices that make these items a laughing stock.

“hi”,
It is made from “Waterproof, breathable Nextec® Flathead nylon with Epic® waterproofing technology” so rain is not a problem. But if you suffer from food spillage perhaps you need to invest in a bib…...

Actually, when the Koyono coats are compared to other coats with compartments designed for tech (like the ones worn by plainclothes police and the Secret Service), the price is competitive.
