Yeah he’s basically a talentless fool with no imagination or skill whatsoever, so just thought he’d cash in by copying other people’s designs.

i’d buy it if it didn’t have the button and wheel protection.  last case i had from #### that had that on there was a complete waste.  made my ipod a 500 buck paperweight because the buttons or wheel sure didn’t work.  I’d have to have a sample or extreme proof somehow that this new exo3 gives NO sort of ipod disfunctionality whatsoever. 

Quite foolish too to make the dock cover swing out to the front…...so now the ipod is once again rendered useless by ####, out of the dock and in the dock.  so much for using the ipod on the dock in the car.

Agreed. It should swing /back/ ... So far two vendors don’t get this. Maybe the third will figure it out.

And, of course, they are not even available for sale (“backordered”). His website is still crappy and unusable…does he even read comments on this board and listen to complaints? Or does he just sit back and rip people off (I’m out $65 for eXo 2 cases I never received.)

why does anyone need a new version of any of the silicone cases for dock use?  i can easily pull back the wheel hole to expose the bottom of my ipod and use it in the dock without having to remove the entire iskin.

The Speck case is a horrible alternative. Those cases feel like pencil erasers… cheap, brittle rubber.

What’s not to like if #### takes a good design idea and applies it to a much higher quality case.  The specks are as previously mentioned, cheap.  And it’s not like they have a patent on the “slit the back so the bottom flips off” technique.  It’s like complaining that McDonalds ripped off Wendy’s 99 cent value menu.  So what!?  Now you’ve got two places offering a good idea, and you have the freedom to choose which one you want.  The EXO cases which cover the buttons provide excellent complete ipod protection, and now you can dock it without taking it out of the case.  Sounds good to me.

And as for the button and wheel covers rendering the ipod useless, that’s BS.  I’ve had an ####2 case for my 2G pod for awhile now and while it did take some initial getting used to, it performed just as well if not better than with it off, as it cut down on the sensitivity that would gereally cause me to scroll right past what I wanted to select.  Anyway, it’s all just personal preference.

But my main point is that I don’t think #### should be called a sleezeball for taking a good design idea and applying it to his product.  So now speck isn’t the only one on the market with one.  Boo hoo.  I’m sure Henry Ford was totally shocked the second some other company made a car.  Gee, didn’t see that one coming.

i would imagine the scroll wheel. opening the way both speck and #### have it is the only practicaly way

While I didn’t call #### a sleazeball, it’s not far off the mark.

1) I ordered 4 cases in December using his “2 for 1” promotion. Of course, the eXo2 was backordered. I asked him if he would honor it past Dec 31, as long as I placed the order before then. I did. They came in stock, and I paid him via PayPal.
2) Lat Janurary…nothing has arrived. I email him, and he pretends like he doesn’t know what I am talking about.
3) Since Feb 1, I have emailed him 5 (yes, 5) times with his original email saying he would send me the eXo2 cases when they were available. To date, I have not received a single response from him.

To be honest, I liked the eXo, and I liked the concept of the eXo2 - I wanted something to completely protect my gym iPod, and that seemed to fit the bill.

But his lack of responsiveness signals to me that he is either lazy, a con-man, or inept. And, of course, since he is in Hong Kong, there is no way for someone in North America to find him or an authority to report him to.

Caveat emptor - I’d be very suspicious of dealing with this man fi I were you.

#### was really good for me.

A friend and I ordered 2x eXo2 and 2x iShades on the friday. We had them the next tuesday week [turnaround of 11 days, including 2 weekends.] We had no problems at all.

I’ve used a Speck case since I got my G3 ipod, and it works as advertised.  It stays clean, it hasn’t gotten misshapen or stretched out or ripped, despite the fact that I flip open the bottom and dock my iPod every day.

$25 for three is right on the money.

This approach to putting an electronic instrument into a case has been used in China for quite sometime for blow mold cell phone cases. I invested in a blow mold case for the 2nd gen iPod but did not release it because of the factory’s unwillingness to work with me on making changes to the material. They use PVC and I wanted to upgrade that to the best material of that type. I have since decided to invest in my own equipment and this will be one of the type of case I will be offering for iPods and other small electronic products. This case uses a few changes in that it is not a one size fit all which I feel made this method of accessing the dock port risky. Then there is the tear factor that I will try to prevent with a small circle hole at each end of the slits. And the starting point where the slit begins and ends and the additional support from the skin covering the control wheel along with high grade silicone could make this a good case. Time will tell.
