LogicInMind has released a new application for iOS devices designed to act as an AirPlay client for sharing content with friends and family between two iOS devices. AirTuner is a universal application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad that allows a user’s device to receive video and photo content via AirPlay from iTunes or another iOS device. This can be useful for allowing users to easily share photos with friends or display photos and videos from an iPhone or iPod touch on a larger iPad screen. AirTuner also supports connection to an external monitor on supported devices using the Apple VGA adapter allowing the AirPlay content to be displayed on an HDTV or computer monitor. AirTuner requires all devices to be connected to a single Wi-Fi network and the current version does not support music or DRM protected movies. AirTuner is available from the App Store for $1.

If Apple’s smart, they’ll make this an integral feature of iOS 5. They could then market the iPod Touch as a wireless external hard drive for iPad media storage.
