Mac: Audiobook Studio 3.0 Released

Audiobook Studio can create dynamic digital “audiobook” audio files using text files and your Mac’s built-in text-to-speech. Then drag and drop them into iTunes, distribute them on the internet, or put them on your iPod. New in this version: more dynamic controls over text-reading (including pause insertion, emphasize/de-emphasize specific words, and speed up/down), more flexible preview, and keyboard shortcuts.

PowerPC Macintosh, including G3 and G4
Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar (10.2.3 or later recommended) or 10.3 Panther
12 MB of available RAM (32 MB recommended)
2 MB of Hard Drive Space for program, more for generated AIFF audio files
