Smoothoperator,
You said
“the ipod is meant to provide portability for things which are not usually portable (music, books, etc).”
If I’m not mistaken, the Bible is a book. So why is it you think it should not be on an iPod? Someone mentioned wasting valuable HD space. I have a 40g iPod with 16g of music. I’ve got plenty of space to waste. Holyhandpod, you are right on the money about tolerance. Tolerance is the buzzword of the day, but no one wants to tolerate a “Bible thumper”. People are blind to what they are or are not.

I recently got a NIV Audio Bible, turn them into AAC format and now I can listen to the Bible…great…check out Zondervan ... for 1700+ tracks it works out to be around 3.5cents a track…much much cheaper than iTunes 99cents.

bhagavad gita is cooler that the bible/torah - better battle scenes, excellent superpowers for their son of god, and has way sexier maidens.

If someone wants to read the Bible on their iPod, its there business. don’t have a cow about it. Its their iPod, thier Mac and their choice. keep your pants on about it.

some respect here!!! excuse me!!!
for all you real Bible freaks out there who desperately NEED other translations, go to biblegateway.com and copy off each chapter one-by-one into text files. it’ll take a while. ok, i’ll stop disguising it, it’s already been done. by me. lol. im crazy… anyways, i have all the translations there, plus a few more. but theyll need reformatting, except for the NLT (my favourite - i love it!)
also, for all you Jews out there, i dont know if the old-testament apocrypha is the same as the Torah, but I have that too. i’ve even started “translating” the old-english KJV apocrypha into modern english. i’ll give you that for free, you’ll have to be friends with me and prove your ownership of a physical Bible for the others.
anyway, thats my publicity if anyone wants it, email me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), then i’ll tell you my real email. it’s a simple spam stopping method.
cya,
-Pete-

I wish someone would make a different translation available. I hate the King James version.

KJV is one of the most accurate translations. NIV is a bit politically skewed (Zondervan = Fox and porn).
